New wastewater treatment plant in Meganisi

The aim of the project is to investigate the optimal management scenario for the municipal waste. As of today, there is no infrastructure for the management (collection, treatment and disposal) of urban waste. The whole area deals with independent sewage management which is very expensive and does not guarantee environmental protection. The sewer treatment plant is designed using the latest technology and at the same time with minimal cost. The municipality of Meganisi presents huge non-uniformity regarding the peak flows of the sewage, since it is densely populated during summer time and has few inhabitants during winter time.
